Nahla Handmade
Nahla is a small business I came up with during the Covid lockdown. It started as a hobby, a way of taking a break from being in front of a screen (TV, Phone, web etc.) and as a way to express my artistic side as well as to bring to life some of my Colombian culture here in Canada. First, I learned embroidery on my own and then I learned crocheting.
Originally the Instagram account was just a way to show my new hobby off, slowly the community started growing more than I expected and now it is what is today.
The name Nahla comes from Arabic & African origins, it means queen, lion and successful woman. As a Colombian myself, African customs are a big part of our roots so I believe that the name Nahla both as a Latina and as a female entrepreneur just fits.
Since I also enjoy product photography all the photos and content seen on Nahla ́s Instagram account have been taken by me.
